Therefore, even if George W. Romney’s birth in Mexico disqualified him from being a natural-born citizen, Mitt Romney could be a natural-born citizen, because his father was a citizen when his son was born.

A few months ago, I wrote “The Danish Civil War”, a fictional scenario which served to structure a consideration of various issues relating to the rise of Islam in Europe and the likely consequences thereof. Immigration laws are not the problem. Enforcement, especially at the Federal level, is the problem. We have a legal route to citizenship that must be equally and fairly applied to all who wish to enter the USA. We can fix this problem if we have people in Washington with courage and leadership.

Our borders are incredibly porous. Physical obstacles and technology must be used to prevent the entry of people who have chosen to come to this country illegally. Article 4, Section 4 of the Constitution requires the Federal government to protect our borders. Our government has neglected border security to the point that it is now easier for a terrorist to enter America than it is for you or I to get on an airplane!
