Latest Terror Attempt Shows State Dept. Still Shirking Security Duties
it's better to risk offending the foreign national than to risk allowing a terrorist to travel here.
The tale of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian terrorist who nearly blew up a Northwest Airlines plane landing in Detroit on Christmas Day, reveals an alarming number of vulnerabilities in our immigration system still in place, even eight years after 9/11. One of the most troubling is the State Department's persistent failure to pull its weight in preventing terrorist travel to the United States.
As the investigation unfolds, it is obvious that the agency's travel facilitation/"why not?" mentality that opened the door for the 9/11 hijackers is still predominant at Foggy Bottom and in our embassies abroad. Just like after 9/11, State's response to this incident is to deny its failures and blame the intelligence agencies for not telling them what to do.
Much attention has been focused on why Abdulmutallab's visa was not revoked, even after his father contacted the embassy in Nigeria to report his suspicions about his son's involvement with extremists. The administration has yet to provide a convincing answer; Obama administration security spokesman John Brennan has lamely lamented that there was no "smoking gun" to support such a decision.

Obama to American Workers: Drop Dead
By D.A. King
The Macon (GA) Telegraph, January 3, 2010
In addition to his recent 'jobs summit' designed to get ideas on how to cut unemployment, the American president has publicly promised to pursue 'every additional and responsible step' to get America back to work. Except, apparently, to stem the flow of illegal immigration into the U.S. and to remove the black market replacement labor from the work force.
Obama could put about 8 million Americans in jobs next week if he would only enthusiastically enforce existing immigration and employment laws today. As a longtime American who studies the organized crime that is illegal immigration — which is directly related to American unemployment — let me share some facts that Gutierrez and Obama hope you will never see.
You are supposed to believe the fairy tale that American borders have been secured.
U.S. Border Patrol apprehended 556,040 new 'undocumented workers' illegally crossing our borders in fiscal year 2009, which ended Sept. 30. Optimistic official estimates are one in four or five illegal alien border crossers are captured at the border.
Do the math.
Statistics from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement reveal significant drops in work site enforcement activity since last year. Administrative alien arrests (arrests of illegal aliens who will be placed into deportation proceedings) have dropped 68 percent.

Our borders are not secure, despite claims to the contrary by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. And she and others have linked their case for "comprehensive immigration reform" to such security.
A federal government internal incident report obtained from the Department of Interior's Fish and Wildlife Service and a news story from Nogales, Ariz., dated December 1, 2009, are indicators that our borders are far from secure -- direct from those who live and work on the border. This is especially true in Arizona, the home state of Secretary Napolitano, where the southeast corner of the state is covered by 60 miles of Forest Service federal land known as the Coronado National Forest, which remains downright dangerous
The invasion Continues - See for yourself.
Border Invasion Pics
Thousands of individuals from foreign countries walk unchallenged across our southern border every day. We don't know who they are, where they come from, or their intentions. It is an invasion by definition, and our government condones it.

IS VIOLENCE THE CORRECT PATH TO POLITICAL REFORM? repeat
I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I
can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will
not refuse to do the something that I can do. What I can do,
I should do. And what I should do, by the grace of God,
I will do." ~ Edward Everett Hale
