America First 2008
Update
Duncan Hunter supporters/staffers were handing out a four page color layout of the Representative in New Hampshire.
The brouhure emphasized Hunter's military record with pictures of him as an airborne ranger. It also emphasized his role in bringing a fence to the border.
"The U.S. has enforceable borders, including a 700-mile double fence across smugglers routes in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas."
It also mentioned the loss of jobs, "The U.S. reverses the "one-way street" trade policies that are moving our industrial base and jobs to China and giving them U.S. dollars to buy milatary equipment for Russia."
While the fence talk is certainly welcome and I wish that Tom Tacredo would get the message that Americans want secure jobs as well as secure borders, Duncan Hunter's brouchure does not mention the word immigration, or anything about enforcing our immigration laws. He says the border fences is "across smugglers routes," not across immigration routes, as if
This indicates to me that immigration will not be a major part of his campaign, but perhaps that is not so, but it is certainly not in this brochure.
