Columbus Park Day laborers, still coming but no employers Day Laborers waiting in vain. Some didn't know it was closed This fellow has a broken arm. Can't work. Says he is from Guatemala. Been here 15, 16, 17 years. Others were from Venezuea and most from Mexico. The Guatemalan claimed he had "papers" but couldn't describe them. He said most Mexicans did not have papers. Many were very young. The converstion lasted for several minutes *( I speak Spanish ). The Guatemalan says he makes about $1,000 per month, his rent is $300 per month and he spends $400 per month on food. The other $300 is sent back to family in Guatemala. He couldn't explain his finaces and budget for clothes, shoes, other essentials. A young girl appeared after a few minutes and began calling all of them away. The Guatemalan said she was from the Latino Syndicate. He was anxious to stop talking also after she showed up. He was not bashful. I believe he was a "Capo" - Jefe, and the girl was a handler/organizer. This is all part of the extensive Latino/Hispanic conspiracy with many organizations involved. It is quite reliable to say that many of these are communists. We shook hands and he said: Adios Amigo. Mamaroneck Police on watch. There were other squad cars and a police officer on bicycle. I identified myself and had a conversation with them. Told them that they were doing the right thing that we supported them 100% as well as the Mayor. There were NO demonstrators. One officer told me that yesterday there were about 70 or 80. The local channel 12 said there were SEVERAL HUNDRED !!! *( There is apparently no end to the medias bovine scatology ). Some protesters were from local churches yesterday. I told the officer that the cacaphony did not represent the sentiments of the vast majority of the American people and he was very well aware of that. The police were very friendly but neutral. Mayors Office *( No - not the whole building , just some space on the first floor ). Other village offices, tax, police, court. There were many plaintiffs decidedly not caucasians nor African Americans. Mamaroneck Harbor/ marina. Harbor Park is in this area on Long Island sound. It is the site of the annual 4th of July firemans carnivals lasting a couple of weeks. Over the years it has become almost totally "Latinized" with Spanish spoken throughout among the crowds. Mamaroneck Diner on the Boston Post Road, Route 1. Over the years it has become totally Latinized. This morning every employee, hostess, waitress, bus boy, cook all spoke only Spanish. No English was spoken among them. The waitress did speak good english. I got an E-mail address for the Mayor of Mamaroneck in case anyone wants to support him. The Mayor is Phil Trifiletti, One of his office staff Rosemary Denaro will receive supportive E-mails; rdenaro@villageofmamaroneck.org But she cautions that you should identify the contents because she won't open it if she doesnt know who it is from. So you can say something like: Re: Support for Mayor, on illegal immigration. Bill Tibbe |
