Kevin Martin, Commissioner
Federal Communications Commission
445 12th Street, SW
Washington, DC 20554

Dear Mr. Martin:

The purpose of this letter to you today is to protest the FCC license renewal for KROM (FM), in San Antonio, TX.  This complaint is valid within the color of law and violates the basic civic and moral guidelines those operating public airwaves are entrusted to abide by.

I have it upon good authority that Radio Station KROM (FM), in San Antonio, Texas has repeatedly told their listening audience the whereabouts of immigration agents and the likely areas of immigration raids for the day in the San Antonio area.

The behavior of this radio station is appalling.   However, the thrust of the objection to the actions of KROM is not only in their role in the obstruction of federal law enforcement.   This also is a national security issue involving foreign language radio stations operating under the jurisdiction of the United States.  I request that your office vigorously investigate this matter further and when concluded, report to the nation the results of your probe.

Your actions in this matter will send a clear message to the broadcast industry and will also be consistent with the Bush Administration’s philosophy of proper enforcement of federal law and its desire to bring to justice and apply sanctions to those who try to obstruct it.  It will put all foreign language broadcast entities on notice that the content of their broadcasts is subject to scrutiny and can affect their ability to have their licenses renewed by the FCC.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you may provide in this matter.

Sincerely,
