This bill would create the Alabama Fair Employment Act. Any employer who does not verify applicants immigration status through the Basic Pilot Program (a workplace verification system) while discharging a citizen or legal alien while employing an illegal alien is guilty of an unfair trade practice. It also requires participation in the federal Basic Pilot Program as a co ndition of a state contract
