However, the available evidence shows that even under the strictest interpretation of Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution, Romney is a natural-born citizen, according to Article 2, Section 1.
Judging by the Happersett decision and most interpretations of the eligibility clause, a president’s parents would only have to be citizens of the U.S. at the time of his or her birth, not natural-born citizens.
Therefore, even if George W. Romney’s birth in Mexico disqualified him from being a natural-born citizen, Mitt Romney could be a natural-born citizen, because his father was a citizen when his son was born.

Vanishing Strykers
An aerial survey of the U.S.-Mexico border from the New Mexico state line to five miles west of Nogales, Arizona found no Army units.
However, we saw no Strykers on the border in 120 miles --- and we would have seen them had they been there. The only conclusion is that they have been pulled.
The National Guard and the Army Strykers were put on the border to impress the public – not to solve the border problem. It is time this administration stopped playing these stupid games.

Operation Streamline is a partnership between the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas – Del Rio Division, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the U.S. Marshal’s Office, and the ICE Office of Detention and Removal. The Del Rio Sector experienced a 38 percent drop in apprehensions during FY’06, and a further 52 percent reduction in FY ’07 so far. The reduction in illegal immigration has allowed the Border Patrol to focus on preventing crossings by terrorists and drug smugglers.
