Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio responded strongly to the federal government’s attacks.
In a press conference held the same day, Sheriff Arpaio said: “[T]he federal government moved to do everything it can to put this agency out of the illegal immigration enforcement business.
We are proud of the work we have done to fight illegal immigration. We have been responsible for finding and identifying 25% of the nation’s illegal alien criminal offenders in our jails.
Sadly, much of that work will no longer be permitted by the Obama administration….Now, with the cancelation of [our 287(g)] agreement, illegal alien criminal offenders arrested and brought into our jails will go undetected and ultimately dumped back onto a street near you.
For that you can thank your federal government.”
Department of Justice (DOJ) attacks Maricopa County
DOJ Formally Accuses Maricopa County of Discrimination against Latinos; DHS Rescinds 287(g) Agreement
In the letter, the DOJ accuses the MCSO of two types of unlawful practices. First, the DOJ claims that MSCO is engaged in “unconstitutional policing” in violation of federal law. Specifically, the DOJ states that MCSO racially profiles Latinos; unlawfully stops, detains, and arrests Latinos; and unlawfully retaliates against individuals who complain about MSCO’s practices. (DOJ Letter, p.1-2) These actions, the DOJ claims, violate 42 U.S.C. § 14141, which prohibits a “governmental authority” from engaging “in a pattern or practice of conduct by law enforcement officers … that deprives persons of rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.” (Id.)

Media Forgets to Mention S. C. Immigration Law-Blocking Judge is Obama Appointee
For those unaware, U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel temporarily blocked segments of South Carolina’s new immigration laws because he claimed that some of its provisions impinged on federal prerogatives, things over which the state has no jurisdiction.
The South Carolina law was opposed in court by Obama’s left-wing, activist Department of Justice headed by Eric “Fast And Furious” Holder and a gaggle of civil rights groups and Judge Gergel agreed with these attackers issuing an injunction to stop implementation of the provisions in question.

Ron Paul vs. Empire

Reporters routinely describe Ron Paul’s foreign-policy views as “isolationist” because he opposes the promiscuous use of military force. This is like calling him a recluse because he tries to avoid fistfights.
The assumption that violence is the only way to interact with the world reflects how oddly circumscribed foreign-policy debates are in mainstream US politics and why Paul’s perspective is desperately needed in the GOP.
As the Texas congressman has explained many times, he supports international trade, travel, migration, diplomacy and cultural exchange. He supports military action when it’s necessary for national defense — in response to the 9/11 attacks, for example.

If our government officials both elected and appointed are not doing what they should be doing it then becomes the responsibility of we the people to take action. The real buck stops with us. This is our government. It time for Americans to leave the safety and security of their homes and work places and march on down to their representatives' offices and make some real noise. We must have one clear cut mission. One mission that most Republicans and normal Democrats agree on is Border Security. Let us demand that, and see that it gets done and then go onto another mission. We can not be fooled by the Republican dog and pony debate show. We the people must take action now. Hoping that a Republican victory in 2012 will resolve our problems is nothing but a fantasy that prevents us from taking real action to reclaim our country. It is time for boots on the ground. E-mails only will not preserve our liberty. Christmas Day did not stop Washington from crossing the Delaware to attack the British. It's time for us all to start "crossing the Delaware"
